This coed clinic will teach students the basic fundamentals of the game of basketball. Participants will take part in organized drills that teach the basics of basketball, such as dribbling, passing, shooting, and defensive stances. At the end of each session participants will play games using the skills they learned. This is not a team/league based activity.
Joel Noe Rec Basketball / Grades 3-8
This non-competitive league is designed to teach basic individual skills and emphasize team play. All games are held on Saturdays with one team practice held during the week at one of the Brookline Public Schools. The league will follow a 8 game schedule, available prior to the start of the season. Teams will be based by school as best as possible.

The Brookline Youth Soccer leagues are designed as learning soccer game programs and are open to all children who live in Brookline or attend a Brookline public or private school. Children are assigned to play on one team throughout the Fall/Spring season. Most teams are comprised of children from the same neighborhood school. All participants must provide their own shin guards, athletic footwear, and a soccer ball. Many teams make up a league and each Saturday your child’s team will play a different opponent team in that league. Every team will play a one hour game on Saturdays and also may have a weeknight one hour team practice, depending upon coach availability. Two parent volunteer coaches are needed for each team. Each player can expect equal playing time in every game. Participants in grades 1-2 need to provide their own #3 ball, in grades 3-6 a #4 ball, and in grades 7-8 a #5 ball.
Tae Kwon-Do training is very individualized and each student progresses at their own pace. For each rank, there are specific techniques they need to master and specific patterns they need to be able to perform. In class, there is a range of ages and abilities and each student Is individually challenged to meet their potential. Higher ranking students learn leadership by leading different aspects of class and are asked to perform harder drills. In class you will work on balance, focus, self-awareness, core strength, spatial awareness and discipline.
The children in the Tae kwon-Do program learn respect while improving focus and attention. The class is taught by certified black belt, Lisa Hanson. Lisa has been instructing Tae Kwon-Do for 16 years. The program instructs students in the art of Tae kwon-Do which: builds character, instills respect, improves focus and attention, teaches self-control, and encourages success through personal achievement.
We offer two classes which are held at Soule Gym. The first class is for girls and boys grades K-3, the second class is for girls and boys grades 4-8. Tae Kwon-Do uniforms with belts are available to purchase separately for $35.
